Max Kendrick is a passionate and engaging Freelance Drummer and drum teacher based in Stratford-Upon-Avon, West Midlands
With over 10 years of experience behind the kit, and 3 in professional capacity playing in sold out shows at the HMV empire and Deadwax Digbeth, Max is dedicated to bringing energy and professionalism to your live performances/every musical setting and helping aspiring musicians to find their rhythm and confidence.
Background and Style
Max is versatile drummer playing and taking inspiration from wide range of musical genres such as Rock, Heavy Metal, Pop, D&B and Dance, Max is comfortable and adaptable in a variety of settings, inspired by the creativity of Sleeptoken’s ii, Style of The Chainsmokers Matt Mcguire and the speed and power of Luke Holland (Live drummer of Falling in Reverse). Max takes elements of each to have a style unique to himself.
Mostly self taught in his early years Max has more recently had the privilege of developing under the world class guidance of Neil Bullock (multi award winning Jazz drummer trained under the likes of Mal Garret, Joe Morello and Jim Chaplin) at the well renowned music academy ACM. This has set Max in good stead with strong fundamentals of groove, dynamics and timing.
Industry experience
Even though Max is still relatively new to the industry he has already accrued extensive Live experience through performances as drummer for the Indie rock band The Mucks, most notably at their sold out headline show at HMV Empire Coventry and sold out show at Deadwax Digbeth; Heavy metal band Amethyst UK and as a dep for Rock/Grunge band Alberto for a headline show at Actress and Bishop Birmingham.
Max has played for many community events during his time at The Academy of Contemporary Music and now seeks further opportunity within the industry.

Depping/Stand in Musician
Providing a stand-in, or temporary support for regular band members who are unable to perform at a scheduled gig/event that the band does not want to cancel.
I can quickly adapt to changes/song-list at short notice, and play in the same, or similar way to the member who I’m filling in for (ensuring continuity to the group’s performance). As a dep I provide quality and professionalism when a band/artist is in most need.
I have depped for multiple bands and artists (sometimes with as little as 24-hours notice), so you can relax knowing you are hiring a professional, and reliable musician in every gig/setting, who is prepared for every occasion.
Session Drummer
From Upbeat pop to metal, I can help bring your rhythm section to life, bringing that. I have experience tracking pop tracks, Indie rock and heavy metal, with various tracks being released for bands such as Amethyst UK and The Mucks.
With professional standard equipment(DW Collectors series 4 piece kit Maple Tobacco sunburst) which can be provided whenever required, you can be assured that I have the quality kit to achieve the tones you need for your track. I can also provide my own remote tracking services through my own drum recording studio.

Lessons/Tuition
With 10+ years experience, I create a fun, engaging and accessible environment for people of all age groups and walks of life.
Lessons with myself will not be a cookie cutter style format which many have experienced with some tuition, but will be tailored to your needs and aspirations.
I encourage any beginners looking to jump into the world of drums to reach out and discuss. We will work on developing strong foundations, timing and feel. Learn all your favourite tracks at a pace which suits you.
